Fred and Ann Stahly went annually to the Royal Smithfield Christmas Show and often bought the Show Champion. In 1983 they bought the Smithfield Champion, which was a Charolais/Aberdeen Angus Cross called Blondie and belonged to the Queen Mother.
A sirloin roast from the beast was later sent to Clarence House and a thank you letter was received from the Queen Mother, which Ann Stahly has kept.
